Plus it pretty much makes the smoke consumable totally useless in high tier, not that you should rely on it in the first place but its pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sad that besides hydro you also have the way overpowered radar as a hard counter to smoke, making DD's that are primarily designed around hit and run (brit DD's) more useless since they cant get away that easily. Not to mention the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ island penetrating of that sad excuse of a consumable which basically causes a DD that went to contest the cap being pinned down there untill the radar expires. Result is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring gameplay, DD's cant do what theyre supposed to do and concealment doesnt matter in any way anymore since you basically have the same detection range as a cruiser when radar is being used. It hasnt watered down the problem, it just caused DD's to be forced to play way more passively, which is why you now regularly see DD's cowering behind islands or the rest of their team and never extending or scouting because they very well know if they actually scout or contest caps they will get shot to oblivion once the enemy radar CAncer uses their consumable. I played the IJN DDs to t9 right before radar was introduced, and despite of beeing a noob back in the day, i dominated the enemy team easily every time there wasn't a CV in the match.
